Every Household Should Have One!
Bulky or heavy items need moving from A to B every day. So what do most folk do? They lift and carry (not good for the joints). But now there is a much easier alternative – the innovative HandiMoova. This is a multi-purpose, versatile load carrier that can get what you want, where you want. We believe that it’s the smarter and safer way to move loads.
Driven by patented CAMBA technology, the HandiMoova foldable hand cart is capable of tackling any terrain, including steps, with ease. It’s smooth on-road and off-road – a genuine tough and dependable work horse. Camba Technology allows the HandiMoova to perform unlike any other hand cart.
It Loves Your Loads
It’s impossible to list everything that the HandiMoova can be used to transport, but here are just a few examples:
• Garden – planters, bags of fertilizer, garden waste, landscaping materials
• Beach – chairs, windbreaker, toys, inflatable items, wetsuits, cool box
• Campsite – luggage, tents, chairs, cool box, waste cassettes, water
• Office – archive boxes, reams of paper, replacement water dispensers
• Home – old white goods, furniture, removal boxes
• Festival – luggage, tents, chairs, cool box, sleeping bags, cases of drinks
Thanks to a compact storage footprint, it’s easy to transport in the car and so always to hand when needed.
The HandiMoova can shift up to 60kg of gear. You will be amazed at how the clever CAMBA technology allows you to move stuff. Combine HandiMoova with one of our waterproof 95 litre or 135 litre HandiDuffel cargo bags to create a brilliant solution to get all of your camping or beach gear from the car to your pitch. Just simply use a bungee to attach the HandiDuffel and off you go!
And once you’re done, the HandiMoova folds-up neatly and can be stowed in a cupboard or the garage.
The HandiMoova is manufactured utilising high quality materials and is backed by a two year warranty against manufacturing defect.
It’s a Back Saver!
Moving anything bulky or heavy around the home, garden or campsite often requires more than one person, the need to carry by hand and a degree of physical input. The HandiMoova foldable hand cart reduces this requirement and in doing so saves time and the risk of a carrying induced injury. It is a truly practical and sure-footed load lugger.
Wouldn’t it be wonderful to not have to worry about how you are going to get everything from the car park to the beach or camping pitch? These treks can often be over considerable distances and are often down unmade tracks, over rough terrain or sand. The bulk of the carrying duties normally fall to Dad and this can cause undue stress (mental & physical) on a day when all you want to do is relax. Thanks to its all-terrain capabilities, the HandiMoova is the perfect solution to save you time and importantly, Dad from a lot of hassle.

Fueled by a Desire to Improve and Innovate
Sir James Dyson did not invent the vacuum cleaner. He became frustrated when his Hoover lost suction and the filter became clogged with dust. His motivation was to improve the vacuum cleaner so that it neither required a bag nor lost suction. We know what happened next.
Foldable hand carts are not a HandiWorld invention either. As outdoor people, we experienced an obvious weakness with the concept. They only work on smooth surfaces. As soon as the wheels meet an obstacle, rough terrain, sand or a step the load carrier becomes harder to pull, unbalanced – often with the load spilling causing discomfort and frustration for the person pulling.
As a business focused on making it easy to move stuff from A to B, our motivation was to improve the foldable hand cart so that it could be used on the beach, over rough terrain and up and down steps with less physical input whilst keeping the load balanced. The solution lay in finding a way of adding our innovative and advanced CAMBA wheel technology to a suitable load carrying frame.
Working with Therefore, a leading London based product design agency, we set about to conceive our own frame design and produced the first prototype – Moo #1 in 2010. We continued to develop the HandiMoova along these lines and further prototypes were produced – Moo #2 in 2011 and Moo #3 in 2012. The CAMBA wheels worked great and everything was going to plan until…
Product Design is never a straightforward process
In early 2013 we hit a snag. Two issues arose. Firstly we could not find a manufacturing partner who could produce the frame to the required tolerances and secondly it became clear that a bespoke frame would be very expensive.
Then we had our light bulb moment. What if we added CAMBA wheels to a load carrying frame that was already being manufactured?
After beating ourselves up for a couple of seconds as to why we hadn’t thought of this in the first place, we set about sourcing a folding kart to test our idea on which gave way to Moo #4. The results were immediate and so we then set about sourcing the right sized frame – Moo #5.
Nearly there
Finally in the autumn of 2013, we started to put our current prototype Moo #6 through its paces and found a great manufacturing partner who could do everything that we wanted. Now we are focused on preparing the HandiMoovas for production.
So it’s taken nearly four years, a lot of investment (both time and money) and pulling miles to get to where we are now. Have we achieved what we set out to achieve? Unquestionably the answer is yes. Has it been worth it? We will let our customers decide that.
Although this particular story finishes here, we hope that your journey with the HandiMoova has only just begun.
There are two elements to the patented CAMBA Technology that drives the HandiMoova – an Active Variable Footprint and the Floating Axle Suspension. CAMBA Technology is simple and robust; there are no fancy mechanisms or high technologies involved. The technology constantly optimises the rolling performance of each wheel.
Active Variable Footprint
A sphere or ball adapts to whatever surface it is being rolled on. On a hard surface it uses just a small contact area and on a soft surface (sand for example), it uses a large contact area. If you were to cut the sphere or ball in half and mount each side on an inclined axle, there you have the principle of the CAMBA hemispherical wheel.
Like a ball, the footprint or surface area of the CAMBA wheel changes progressively and intuitively to whatever surface it is being rolled on. You have a low contact area for hard surfaces (like a bicycle wheel) and a large contact area for soft surfaces (such as a balloon tyre) – the best of both worlds. This makes CAMBA Technology the perfect all-terrain wheel.
Floating Axle Suspension
By mounting the CAMBA wheels on a Floating Axle, you not only allow each wheel to move independently of the other, but also create the visual effect of the wheels both rolling and ‘walking’ over obstacles. This action allows the CAMBA wheels to ‘smooth’ out any bumps or rough terrain making it easier for the user to keep their load balanced on the HandiMoova without the risk of spilling, whilst reducing physical input. Please watch the following video to see the CAMBA wheels in action.
CAMBA wheels perform unlike any other wheel on steps and stairs. When going down a step, the force of gravity on the wheel and axle allows it to drop just milliseconds before the load. This keeps the load stable and the HandiMoova hand cart balanced. When the CAMBA wheels are pulled up against a step, they continue to rotate on the axle and in doing so create a less vertical and easier pulling angle for the user.
What weight can be transported on a HandiMoova?
The total weight of your load should not exceed 60kg. When using the HandiMoova on stairs we recommend a maximum load of 40kg and the same for sand and rough terrain.
Can the HandiMoova be towed?
The HandiMoova is designed to be pulled by hand and should never be used as a trailer to be towed behind vehicles – motorised or other.
Does the HandiMoova come with bungee straps?
Each HandiMoova is supplied with one bungee strap to be used to secure loads to the load plate and frame. We can also supply high quality HandiBungees.
Why are there two ‘stop’ positions on the telescopic handle?
If you are carrying loads in excess of 40kg we recommend that you use the first stop at 100cm.
Will the tyres get punctures?
The tyres on the HandiMoova are manufactured from a strong rubber foam and so will not puncture.
Are the metal components salt water resistant?
All the metal components used on the HandiMoova have been treated against salt water corrosion.
What is the Allen key for?
We have designed the HandiMoova to be easy to maintain. The Allen key is used to remove the axles from the wheel brackets to facilitate cleaning and maintenance.
The Ideal Festival Trolley
